By Samia Smadi The Faculty of Nursing Holds a Scientific Day On Tuesday April 7, 2009, the Faculty of Nursing held a scientific day, during which many experts and academic staff discussed different research papers and studies in the field of nursing. Deputizing UJ President, Vice-President for Scientific Faculties and Institutes, Professor Dia-Eddin Arafah, opened the event, which addressed several researches and nursing studies that were carried out in cooperation with Göteborg University in Sweden. Dr. Inaam Khalaf, Dean of the Faculty, said that the faculty looks forward to developing scientific research and studies in a way that will serve the community and set the correct rules for nursing care. She added that the program of the scientific day will include 12 papers. She pointed out that the Faculty of Nursing won many awards including Al-Hassan bin Talal Award for Academic Excellence for the year 2009. Dr. Reema Al-Safadi, Chairperson of the Faculty’s Scientific Research Committee, presented a paper in which she reviewed the scientific research achievements and efforts of the faculty members. Dr. Jihad Al-Halabi, from UJ’s Faculty of Nursing and Dr. Ingrid Bergman from Göteborg University described the cooperation between the two universities as successful and that it resulted in conducting specialized scientific researches and provided both universities with valuable information f developing the Nursing Sector.
