Faculty on Business Holds Conference of Emerging Economics

 

A conference on “Critical Issues for Emerging Economics in Today’s Business Environment” was held April 14-15 at the Faculty of Business. The conference aimed at finding various means and methods that help meet the challenges of the business environment locally and regionally.

 

The Vice-President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Prof. Bashir Al-Zu’bi, who inaugurated the conference deputizing the President, said that scientific and technological development and the transfer of societies to the era of knowledge have highlighted the importance of business in the community and its active role at various levels.


From his part, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Chairman of the Preparatory Committee of the Conference, Prof. Hani Al-Dmour, pointed to the importance of the conference, which seeks to improve methods and administrative and economic systems in line with the Royal vision.


He added that the current financial and economic crisis has contributed to highlighting the importance of the administrative and professional ethics of the business environment.

 

On the other hand, Prof. Al-Dmour stressed the importance of partnership and coordination between public and private sectors, pointing out the need for an active and dynamic governmental role in organizing and developing appropriate legislations for the business environment and in keeping up with the rapid financial, administrative and economic developments caused by globalization.


Prof. Al-Dmour added that the conference aimed at identifying the reality of emerging economics in today’s business environment in terms of strengths and weaknesses, and focusing on the importance of partnership between the academic and business sectors, as well as, shedding light on the modern management concepts, and energy crisis and its repercussions on the economic and social fields.


Economists and academics from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Libya, Algeria, Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain, Britain, Spain, Italy and Australia participated in the two-day conference.
